Agree? Life is a Series of Ok and Not Ok…

Life is a series of ok and not ok. I had running nose and sore throat intermittently yesterday. Covid test negative. I felt hives attack coming and took an antihistamine. I didn’t sleep well through the night as I experienced hot flushes.
This morning I was so tired, it took me four attempts before I pulled myself out of bed. I had intended to record some work videos and/ or write an article that is due, but I couldn’t will myself to do either. My brain was foggy and I was feeling restless, unsure of what to do with myself.
Finally I decided to give up the internal struggle and conserve my energy because I actually have two clients and a virtual workshop for the rest of the day. My day won’t end till at least 11p.m.
In case you’re thinking there’s something seriously wrong with me, these are all symptoms my period is coming — cannot sleep well, hot flushes, hives attack, foggy brain, and restlessness.
I can plan my energy so I show forth my best face for work, but not every working woman can. I ask for more understanding and learning of what women experience during their period. It’s common, real, and should be normalise. None of us can be in optimal mental and physical health all the time, and we need to have compassion for ourselves and others.
