Member-only story

The other day, my friend and I talked about the increased aches and pains we experience as we get older… and how even walking a few bus-stops can be a challenge.

We laughed as we talked about the people we’ve witnessed who would take the bus only to alight at the next stop.

One stop.

And we laughed even harder when we realize that might well be us one day.

There’s no way of really knowing what others are going through.

We don’t need to know. We just need empathy.

Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another’s position.

We just need to be mindful that we cannot know everything and be considerate of others.
