I believe in giving people three chances.

First time, I state my boundaries.

Second time, maybe you didn’t hear me the first time.

Third time, it’s quite enough.

But as I got older, I realise one more chance is sometimes one too many. People who continue to push boundaries simply don’t respect — now or ever. They don’t get it and I’m not going to put up with bad behaviour.

It’s not my responsibility to explain, teach, or parent, but it’s my responsibility to take care of me.

What about you? What is it like for you? Do you give endless chances to somebody? Do giving of chances need to be earned?
